Deadlock Gets a Big Update from Valve
Valve has released a major update for Deadlock, completely revamping its core gameplay with a redesigned map. Gone are the four lanes; in their place is a more streamlined three-lane structure, bringing the game closer to the familiar layout of traditional MOBAs.
This significant change dramatically alters gameplay strategies. The previous "1 vs 2" lane distribution is obsolete. Expect to see two heroes per lane, necessitating a complete re-evaluation of resource management and team composition.

The map's redesign extends beyond lane count, impacting the positioning of neutral camps, buffs, and other crucial elements. To ease the transition, a new "map exploration" mode has been added, allowing players to freely navigate the revised map without the pressure of combat. This provides a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new layout before jumping into competitive matches.
The Soul Orb system has also received an overhaul. Players can now collect souls even without delivering the final blow, accelerating resource acquisition. Further refinements to soul effects include reduced air-hover times, enhancing the overall flow of combat.
This update also includes improvements to sprint mechanics, character balance adjustments, and enhanced performance thanks to the addition of DLSS, FSR, NVIDIA Reflex, and Anti-Lag 2.0 support. Numerous bugs have also been squashed. For a detailed list of all changes, consult the official patch notes.
