Bandai Namco recently unveiled a captivating trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered, providing fans with an in-depth look at the game's revamped gameplay and new features. This action RPG, originally developed by PlayStation's parent company for the PS Vita in response to losing the Monster Hunter exclusivity, now boasts enhanced visuals and a host of other improvements. Freedom Wars Remastered is set to launch on January 10 across multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

The story unfolds in a dystopian future where resources are scarce, and the protagonist, known as a Sinner, is convicted merely for being born. To reduce their sentence, Sinners must complete various missions for their Panopticon, their city-state. These missions involve rescuing citizens, destroying Abductors—massive mechanical creatures—and capturing control systems, all of which can be tackled solo or in online co-op mode.

The newly released trailer offers a detailed glimpse into the gameplay mechanics of Freedom Wars Remastered. It starts by introducing the main character and setting the stage for the dystopian world players will navigate. The game's core loop involves battling Abductors, harvesting their parts, and upgrading gear to enhance combat effectiveness, much like its spiritual predecessor, Monster Hunter.

Freedom Wars Remastered Showcases Its Gameplay Systems

The trailer highlights several key updates that elevate the gaming experience. Graphically, the game has seen a significant leap, with resolutions reaching 2160p (4K) at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, 1080p at 60 FPS on PS4, and 1080p at 30 FPS on the Switch. The gameplay has been quickened thanks to improved design elements such as increased movement speed and the ability to cancel weapon attacks, ensuring a more dynamic and engaging experience.

Crafting and upgrade systems have been completely overhauled, featuring more intuitive interfaces and the ability to attach and detach modules freely. A novel feature, module synthesis, allows players to enhance their equipment using resources from rescued citizens. Additionally, the trailer introduces the Deadly Sinner difficulty mode, catering to the most dedicated players seeking a challenge. All customization DLC from the original PS Vita version will be available at launch, ensuring that players have a wide array of options to personalize their gameplay experience.
