REPO Developers Reveal Future Plans Including 'Duck Bucket' Feature

REPO's development team has outlined exciting upcoming features, including a special "duck bucket" to neutralize the game's infamous lethal duck. Discover their roadmap updates and see what Lethal Company's creator thinks about the new horror co-op title.

Key Features Coming to REPO's First Update

New Duck Bucket Mechanic

The first major update introduces a strategic "duck bucket" item to contain the game's deadly waterfowl. Semiwork Studios previewed this mechanic in a March 15 YouTube announcement about upcoming changes to their cooperative horror experience.

REPO is a 6-player online horror game where teams carefully recover artifacts in terrifying environments. The notorious Apex Predator - an innocent-looking yellow duck - transforms into a bloodthirsty monster when disturbed, attacking players for 10 seconds before resetting.

The new duck bucket item will allow players to trap and neutralize this persistent threat, preventing both accidental activations and constant pursuit. The update will also introduce enhanced character expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.

Semiwork Studios revealed "The Museum" as an upcoming parkour-focused level featuring clearer extraction zone indicators. The developers continue analyzing player feedback to refine matchmaking systems.

We're prioritizing public lobbies with both public/private hosting options and a kick function based on community requests," the studio explained. "While implementing server-based kick functionality presents technical challenges for our team, we're committed to making it work."

Lethal Company Creator Shares Constructive Feedback

Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to Lethal Company for its similar cooperative horror gameplay. On March 15, Lethal Company creator Zeekerss offered thoughtful suggestions for improvement via Twitter/X.

"REPO delivers fantastic moments when your team maneuvers delicate objects through tight spaces," he noted. "However, increasing voice chat range and reducing audio muffling would significantly improve coordination in those tense scenarios."

Zeekerss also addressed enemy detection issues, stating, "The game needs clearer ways to learn enemy behaviors - though I'm certain the developers have this planned."

Currently ranking as Steam's #2 top seller behind Counter-Strike 2, REPO has attracted over 230,000 simultaneous players - nearing Lethal Company's peak numbers. The PC-exclusive horror title continues gaining momentum with its unique cooperative challenges.
