If you've recently caught a screening of The Minecraft Movie, you likely recall Jack Black's brief but memorable musical moment - the delightful "Lava Chicken" sequence during the film's middle act.

Black, portraying the character Steve, performs this 34-second ditty as Jason Momoa and fellow cast members watch a chicken meet its fiery fate with falling lava. Though remarkably short, the catchy tune has exploded in popularity across social platforms.

The song has now made history by entering the UK Official Charts at #21, becoming the shortest track ever to chart. "Streaming culture and viral trends are redefining what constitutes a hit," commented ERA, the UK's digital entertainment trade body.

This isn't Black's first foray into viral gaming-themed music. His 95-second romantic ballad "Peaches" from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, where he voices Bowser, previously cracked the Billboard Hot 100 - marking his first solo chart appearance. Black previously charted at #78 in 2006 with Tenacious D's "The Pick of Destiny."

The track joins other brief charting songs like 2007's "Spider Pig" from The Simpsons Movie (64 seconds) and Liam Lynch's 2002 punk anthem "United States of Whatever" (86 seconds).

"Lava Chicken" isn't the only viral phenomenon emerging from The Minecraft Movie. Enthusiastic audience reactions have taken TikTok by storm, with some fans even bringing live chickens to screenings.

The film's success continues to grow, having recently crossed the $700 million mark globally. It's currently on track to become the highest-grossing video game adaptation in cinematic history. Behind-the-scenes details have also surfaced, including revelations about the production team's private Minecraft server used during filming.
