En una entrevista reveladora, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, el ex diseñador principal de Quest de The Witcher 3 , reveló que CD Projekt Red (CDPR) albergaba dudas sobre la viabilidad de integrar una gran narrativa dentro de un entorno de juego de mundo abierto. "Pocos juegos se han atrevido a intentar lo que hicimos: combinar técnicas expansivas de narración de historias, generalmente reservadas para juegos de rol lineales con estructuras similares a corredores, como el Witcher 2 , y adaptándolas para que se ajusten a una experiencia del mundo abierto", dijo Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

A pesar de estas reservas iniciales, el equipo de desarrollo de CDPR adoptó audazmente el desafío, elaborando en última instancia el Witcher 3 , un título que desde entonces ha sido aclamado como uno de los juegos de rol más aclamados en la historia de los juegos. Tomaszkiewicz ahora encabeza el equipo de Rebel Wolves, trabajando en su próximo proyecto, The Blood of Dawnwalker .
