Unlock New Weapons in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Unveiling Ancient Power
Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles where players controlled numerous characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins features a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.
Weapon Acquisition in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
While earlier games linked weapons to specific characters and their movesets, Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines this by allowing weapon swapping. Starting with a sword, additional weapons are earned by defeating particular enemy officers during missions. All nine main weapons are obtainable before completing Chapter 3, though the exact order depends on defeated officers. Here's a breakdown of my weapon acquisition timeline:
- Sword: Starting weapon.
- Spear: Acquired after completing the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1 (story progression purchase required).
- Gauntlets: Earned by defeating Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1).
- Wheels: Obtained by defeating Zhang Ju during the Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2).
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding this weapon in the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2).
- Staff: Found within a treasure chamber with a secret passage, defeating the officer inside during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2).
- Twin Pike: Earned by defeating Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
- Lance: Defeat an officer wielding the lance on the opposing side during the Battle of Xu Province (requires choosing either Cao Cao or Liu Bei's side).
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked sometime in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction (exact mission varies).
Beyond these nine, a final weapon, the halberd, awaits. Unlocking it requires defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate after completing the main campaign. This challenging battle rewards players with arguably the game's most powerful weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
