Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration

Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map, "The Tomb." This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.

The star of the show is "The Tomb," a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows the Season 1 release of "Citadelle des Morts," adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe in less than two weeks.

Treyarch's narrative summary explains that Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya, following Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, investigate an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The site, ancient catacombs built upon burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed until the early 1900s, hinting at secrets yet to be uncovered.

The Tomb's gameplay is described as reminiscent of "Liberty Falls," the smaller, replayable map from Black Ops 6's October launch. Expect tighter spaces and numerous Easter eggs to discover. Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by previous entries and the return of a classic SMG, with further details to be revealed.

Season 2 will also introduce quality-of-life improvements, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. A co-op pause option for Zombies (controlled by the party leader) and separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer are also confirmed. Players kicked from a Zombies match will be able to rejoin with their loadout intact.

To commemorate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players will enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared Directed Mode statistics, revealing over 480 million hours played, with the Main Quest completion rate more than doubling since its launch.
