Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Trailer Shows Animatronics on the Move

We're going back... and in a surprising twist, the animatronics are actually leaving the pizza parlor this time. The first trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has arrived, packed with exciting revelations. Most notably, the Freddy's animatronics will break free from Fazbear's Pizza in this sequel, bringing their terror into the outside world.

But that's not the only highlight in this preview. After seeing the device on the movie's first poster, we now get a clearer look at the FazTalker—a toy that mixes a two-way radio with a classic Fisher Price boombox. It seems to be working exactly as fans guessed, enabling spirits to communicate with the living.

Interestingly, the spirits aren't trying to reach Josh Hutcherson's character Mike, but rather his younger sister Abby, who bonded with the animatronics' spirits in the first film. In the trailer, they plead for her help, and she, along with Mike and his police friend Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), appear to respond. Still, this could easily be a trap, possibly orchestrated by Matthew Lillard's William Afton, even if he's supposedly dead.

The trailer also gives us a look at the Withered animatronics, especially Withered Bonnie—nicknamed Faceless Bonnie—who appears in all his terrifying glory. As the main antagonist of the second FNAF game, Withered Bonnie seems to play a similar role in the movie.

One of the trailer's most entertaining moments comes at the end, when Mike discovers a Freddy mask in the office. Fans of the game will recognize this as a tool to help him stay hidden when the animatronics roam at night. "There's no way this'll work," Mike mutters, just before Chica and Withered Bonnie launch their attack.

Overall, FNAF 2 is shaping up to be a thrilling follow-up that stays true to the second game rather than straying too far from fan expectations. If everything falls into place, that could be its biggest strength.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on December 5, 2025.
