"Infinity Nikki Fans Threaten to Quit Over Update 1.5 Changes"

Author : Scarlett Update : May 01,2025

Infinity Nikki and its highly anticipated 1.5 update have finally hit Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a series of controversies and technical issues. Infold Games' fashionable dress-up adventure, after months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, arrived on Valve's platform to much fanfare, but the celebration quickly turned sour.

Players eagerly awaited the update, only to be met with a host of problems, from crashes and instability to perplexing design changes and demanding new outfit requirements. Infold has issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the community's dissatisfaction persists.

PC players faced significant hurdles, with many unable to launch the game due to technical glitches. Beyond these issues, the introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces, has sparked outrage. This means players might need up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a significant increase from what they're used to, and it was introduced without prior notice. The fear is that future outfit requirements will only become more demanding.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing further unrest among players. As technical issues continued and monetization strategies seemed to become more aggressive, the Chinese player base took to social media platform RedNote, sparking a movement that has spread globally. Players worldwide are now calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.

"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl stated in a call-to-action post. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."

The community's response has been significant, reflected in the game's current "Mixed" rating on Steam. Negative reviews serve as warnings to potential new players, urging them to wait until the developers address the community's concerns.

In response to the backlash, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements in communication about future adjustments.

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,

Hope this message finds you well.

First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

The letter included commitments to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, along with compensation for players in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this move is seen as a step forward, it falls short of the comprehensive changes many were hoping for.

Some players view Infold's concessions as a victory, but others remain skeptical, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. The promise of better communication has been noted, yet concerns persist about future five-star outfits retaining the 11-part structure.

I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5-star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the mixed feelings, the community's efforts have led to some changes, and boycotters are urging others to maintain pressure on the developers. "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces," Reddit user EdensAsmr said. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it."
