Full Dead Sails Kraken Guide [NEW UPDATE]
If you loved Dead Rails on sails, you're in for a treat with the new update, despite its challenges. Mastering the Seven Seas and defeating the tentacled beast is within reach, and with no need for trial and error, this Dead Sails Kraken guide will walk you through the new content, speed up your progression, and amplify your enjoyment.
Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
You'll start your adventure in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. It's crucial to offload any excess loot and gear up. I recommend opting for a Rifle; it's a solid choice at only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to power your boat—it's got an old-school engine, after all.

The next town is 10,000m away, so get the boat moving and you'll be on your way. While you can stop to take out Zombies and Drowned for loot, it's not always worth it due to limited valuables in the side houses. To restart the ship, simply add more coal. Ignore the worm on the right side for now. Wait until you reach the second safe zone to sell your goods, and be mindful of Big Foot and Zombie mobs along the riverbanks.

After the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. Clear them out if you're with friends, but it's generally a time waster due to scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned and valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use it wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks
By now, you're familiar with the routine—kill, loot, repeat and hope for enemy defeat. To master the game, focus on efficiency by using your boat as your primary inventory. Empty your bag onto the boat to save time and space.

A key strategy I found useful while crafting this guide was stacking Zombies near the incinerator. Though it's tempting to flee those backwater towns, efficient loot stacking pays off. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.

Another tip: be cautious in Sheriff's offices. These areas often have a high concentration of mobs but also offer rewarding weapons and ammo. I was able to sustain my shotgun by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.

Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a hotspot for ambushes. I wouldn't recommend going alone; at least three people, ideally a 5-stack, are needed. Be efficient when collecting loot.

Avoid engaging Big Feet past 30,000m—they're tough, hit hard, and drain your ammo. Don't linger too long; prioritize strategic stops. Remember, loot isn't everything.
The town after 50,000m is a prime farming spot with at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies. It's an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prepare bodies for loading quickly.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails Kraken
In the final safe zone, sell everything and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on Zombies and Drowned; have at least 8-10 corpses ready for fuel during this final push. At around 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to face the beast. The sign of its approach is the skies darkening.

As the Kraken emerges, everyone must pick a tentacle to attack. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can cause damage if not repelled. With five people on board, form a pentagram-like shape and focus on your assigned tentacle.

Watch out for the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back its tentacle. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, be cautious of the Roar AoE, which causes minor damage and seems to buff the boss slightly. It's signaled by white concentric circles from the tentacle.

As you can see, it's not as daunting as it seems. That's the essence of my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To conquer the boss even faster, use one of our Dead Sails codes and see how far and fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
