Looking back on the past year? Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature offers a fun, personalized summary of your 2024 Snapchat memories. Unlike other year-end recaps that focus on statistics, Snap Recap highlights a memorable Snap from each month, creating a visual journey through your year.

What is Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your saved Snaps into a short video montage. It doesn't delve into detailed statistics; instead, it curates a single representative Snap for each month, offering a lighthearted and nostalgic look back. The recap seamlessly transitions into your other Snapchat Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is simple:

1. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe upwards to open Memories. (Don't press the shutter button!)
2. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to start the playback. The recap automatically plays through your selected Snaps, one per month. You can tap the screen to advance through the recap at your own pace. You can save, edit, or share your Snap Recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, meaning your recap might still be generating. The frequency of your Snapchat usage and the number of saved Snaps also play a role in whether a recap is created. Unfortunately, if you meet the criteria and still don't see a recap, you can't request one to be generated.
