Ubisoft Unveils Character Customization, Progression in Assassin's Creed: Shadows
Ubisoft has just released an exciting new article about the gameplay features of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, with a deep dive into the equipment and progression systems for the game's protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. One of the highlights that fans are sure to love is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, promising thrilling stealth and combat experiences.
Both Yasuke and Naoe have uniquely crafted skill trees that align with their distinct combat styles. Yasuke, with his samurai expertise, will have access to specialized samurai techniques, while Naoe's shinobi skills allow for stealth and agility. Players can allocate skill points to unlock new abilities specific to their chosen weapons or to refine their fighting styles. Mastery points, crucial for advancing through the skill trees, can be earned by tackling open-world objectives or by taking down formidable enemies such as the Daisyo samurai.
To maintain a balanced progression, both characters will develop at an even pace, ensuring that neither falls behind. Unlocking potent abilities often requires engaging in specific in-game actions, like tracking down a secretive shinobi group. Progress is also tied to the "Knowledge" scale, which players can advance by studying manuscripts or praying at shrines. Reaching the sixth rank on the Knowledge scale unlocks an entirely new skill tree, adding depth to character development.
Ubisoft also detailed the equipment system, where items are categorized into five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade their gear at a blacksmith and customize its appearance for a unique look. Armor and weapons come with special perks that can significantly alter gameplay, offering a dynamic and personalized experience.
The Hidden Blade remains the ultimate tool for stealth, now with the ability to instantly eliminate enemies with a single, precise strike. Assassin's Creed: Shadows is set to launch globally on March 20, available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, promising a rich and immersive gaming experience.
