"Star Wars Tactics Game Unveiled at 2025 Celebration"
Excitement is building as EA prepares to unveil its highly anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game at Star Wars Celebration 2025. The reveal, set to take place on April 19, will be presented via a live panel featuring key members of the development team from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games. This marks one of the first major public showcases for the project since its initial announcement in early 2022.
The game is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio made up of former Firaxis Games veterans known for their expertise in crafting deep, strategic gameplay experiences—most notably the critically acclaimed XCOM series. Since its formation, Bit Reactor has collaborated closely with Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the popular Star Wars Jedi franchise, to bring this new vision to life within the beloved Star Wars universe.
What to Expect from the Reveal
While details remain scarce, fans are eager to learn more about the game’s setting, story, and core mechanics. Although we currently know little about which era of Star Wars it will explore or how exactly it will play, the involvement of developers with XCOM roots strongly suggests a tactical, squad-based experience filled with high-stakes combat and strategic decision-making—all wrapped in the rich lore of the Star Wars galaxy.
This upcoming reveal promises to shed light on what could become one of the most intriguing entries in the Star Wars gaming lineup in recent years.

Other Star Wars Projects in the Works
In addition to this tactical title, Respawn Entertainment continues development on the third installment of its Star Wars Jedi trilogy. However, there are no current plans to showcase that game at this year’s Celebration. Meanwhile, earlier in March, Respawn quietly canceled a previously unannounced multiplayer first-person shooter project following internal restructuring. This comes after the broader EA layoffs in late 2023, which affected nearly 670 employees across multiple studios.
Elsewhere at the event, Lucasfilm will also treat fans to an exclusive preview of the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu film slated for release in May 2026, as well as a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, continuing its tradition of animated storytelling from global creators.
