"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Still in Development, Developer Confirms"
Saber Interactive has reassured fans that all previously announced projects are still actively in development, despite the lack of updates on high-profile titles like the eagerly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. Following the recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to Twitter to affirm the studio's commitment to its diverse portfolio of games.
"Saber Interactive stands as one of the largest independent developers globally," Willits stated. "Our team is diligently working on a wide array of games spanning multiple genres. Rest assured, every project we've announced remains in development. We'll share more details on our upcoming titles as soon as we have exciting news to reveal."

The most talked-about project in Willits' statement is undoubtedly the KOTOR remake, a project that has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement in 2021. The game has undergone multiple transitions, including changes in development teams and apparent pauses and restarts, yet after four years, it has yet to see the light of day.
In April 2024, Saber Interactive's CEO, Matthew Karch, confirmed that the KOTOR project was retained by Saber during its separation from Embracer Group and remains in active development. "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this," Karch stated at the time. "It's been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations."
Willits' recent statement, nearly a year after Karch's comments, reaffirms the ongoing development of the KOTOR remake. However, fans are still left without any new visuals or updates beyond the initial announcement trailer.
Saber Interactive's pipeline is bustling with other projects as well, including titles slated for release in 2025 such as John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival, though specific release dates remain undisclosed. Additionally, the studio is developing a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
With the addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, Saber Interactive continues to expand its offerings. For more insights into what Space Marine 3 might bring, be sure to check out IGN's detailed article on potential chapters and enemy factions.
