New Sinister Ending Emerges in Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 3's hidden depths continue to unveil themselves. Larian Studios' RPG is proving to be a treasure trove of secrets, many uncovered by dedicated dataminers.
One such discovery, a previously unearthed dark ending, has resurfaced during testing of the game's eighth major patch. This ending allows the player character to forcibly remove and destroy the illithid parasite, surviving the process unscathed. A subsequent choice then presents itself: depart with companions, or leave them behind.
The community speculates that patch eight will fully integrate this alternative conclusion into the game.
Recent layoffs at BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled industry-wide conversations about job security. In contrast, Larian Studios' publishing director, Michael Daus, remains active online. He recently commented on these industry trends, emphasizing the importance of valuing employees and advocating for leadership to shoulder the burden of restructuring instead of resorting to widespread layoffs between or after project completion. He stressed the critical role of retaining institutional knowledge for future endeavors.
