Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects
According to Remedy's latest annual report, Control 2 has successfully navigated through the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This marks a pivotal milestone, solidifying the project's progress and commitment to its development. The game, budgeted at an impressive 50 million euros, will be self-published by Remedy and is set to launch on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two other exciting titles: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these projects were in the initial stages of preparation, but they have since progressed significantly. FBC: Firebreak carries a budget of 30 million euros and will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store upon release. While the budget for the Max Payne 1+2 remakes remains undisclosed, these are confirmed to be AAA-level games, fully funded by Rockstar Games for both development and marketing.
Unfortunately, the project Kestrel, which was in development with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from Remedy's plans as of May last year.
All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy games. This engine continues to be a cornerstone in Remedy's game development strategy, ensuring high-quality gaming experiences across their portfolio.
