"Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Dual Outfit Effects Guide"
Quick Links
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only focuses on its thrilling, action-packed gameplay but also offers a robust system for weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're aiming to stealthily navigate around machines or engage in fierce melee or ranged combat, you can tailor your outfits to suit your playstyle.
However, there are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, the game allows this, though with certain restrictions. Let's dive into how you can achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
The feature to enjoy the effects of two outfits is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Thanks to a recent patch, the remastered version now includes a transmog feature. This allows you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while donning the appearance of another, ensuring you never have to compromise on style for performance.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To leverage the effects of two outfits, there are some key points to consider. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for your base stats, the second outfit must be one of these three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are found in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, meaning you can't use this method at the game's outset. Thankfully, you don't need to finish the main game to access the DLC.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Begin by accessing the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you're struggling, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once inside the area, seek out a Bluegleam Merchant, identified by a blue icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this mission can be challenging, or switch to Story mode to make it easier. The Adept version is acquired similarly but is only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed without needing to continue the Frozen Wilds content.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping the outfit with your desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits offer an automatic healing perk after taking damage, which doesn't affect the stats of your primary outfit.
This method lets you maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing feature of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you're using the Shield Weaver outfit, you become nearly invincible, rarely taking damage, and when you do, the Banuk Werak's healing perk activates shortly after.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits provide quicker healing than the Banuk Werak Runner, so opt for these if available.
