In the expansive world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, players are treated to a myriad of engaging activities, each offering unique rewards and challenges. For those aiming to unlock the coveted Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement, this guide will serve as your essential roadmap to success.

How to Unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

While fishing might not be central to your main progress in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, it offers a delightful diversion and its own dedicated questline. This questline is crucial for obtaining the necessary equipment to pursue the trophy and achievement.

Begin your journey by embarking on Kanya’s fishing questline. To do so, you'll need to complete the following side quests, each requiring specific items:

Seeking the Goldenfish: Your first task is to catch the elusive Goldenfish. These can be found in the pools of water within caves. Head to the Scarlet Forest in Area 6 and use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits. The Fallow weather state significantly increases the likelihood of these fish appearing.

Fishing for Favor: Next, you'll need to catch the Gravid Bowfin. This task can be completed at the Scarlet Forest base camp, but only under the Plenty weather condition. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line to secure this catch.

The Catch of a Lifetime!: Kanya will then challenge you to catch a Whopper, which can be any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame. The Tuna is a popular choice for this quest. Make your way to the Scarlet Forest's lake in Area 17, and patiently reel in one of these giants.

Upon completing these quests, Kanya will introduce the Razzle Dazzle quest, which is your gateway to earning the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. Here’s how to proceed:

Navigate to the Scarlet Forest, specifically Area 17. You'll need the Downpour weather condition within Inclemency; you can wait at the grill or rest at your camp to change the conditions. Once ready, approach the lake and venture into the deep end until you can't go further. Look for squids swimming around. If none are present, fast travel to another location and back to encourage their spawn.

Equip the Tentacle Jig provided by Kanya and start fishing. While the quest asks you to catch the Grand Escunite, your actual target for the trophy and achievement is the Goliath Squid. Keep an eye out for the squids with glowing blue shells. If you hook one and the reeling minigame begins, you're on the right path. Battle the creature patiently, reeling it in when it tires. Once it's close enough to the shore, you'll successfully pull it out, unlocking the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement.

That's everything you need to know to secure the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides, be sure to visit The Escapist.
