New Game Mode: Weekly Challenges in The Battle of Polytopia
The Battle of Polytopia has spiced up its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a fresh and structured way to test your strategic prowess in this popular 4X strategy game. Let's dive into what this new feature brings to the table.
It Was Random Before
Previously, the game thrived on the unpredictability brought by its diverse enemies, resources, and maps. However, with the latest free update, The Battle of Polytopia is introducing a more organized competitive twist.
Every week, players face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field. The challenge? Rack up the highest score possible within 20 turns. You're allowed only one attempt per day, totaling a maximum of seven tries per week.
This new feature also gives players a chance to experience tribes they might not yet own. With 16 tribes available—four in the base game and twelve more that can be purchased for $1-4 each—Weekly Challenges allow everyone to compete with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, if you ask me. The new mode also introduces a League system, where everyone starts in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines whether you move up, stay put, or move down. The top third of players advance to the next league, the bottom third drop down, and the middle group remains in the same league.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty ramps up. Starting with Easy AI in the Entry League, you'll face increasingly challenging bots, reaching Crazy difficulty by the time you hit the Gold League. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
