Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Unveils Enticing PC Enhancements

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Version: A Detailed Look at its Features

A new trailer confirms a wealth of features for the upcoming PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, launching nearly a year after its PS5 debut. The game, a 2024 Game of the Year contender, will finally reach PC players on January 23, 2025.

Following the recent release of the PC system requirements, Square Enix showcased impressive graphical enhancements. Expect support for up to 4K resolution and a smooth 120fps frame rate. Beyond this, "improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals" are promised, though specifics remain under wraps for now. Players can adjust the visuals using three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) and even control the number of on-screen NPCs to optimize performance.

Key Features of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Port:

  • Input Options: Full mouse and keyboard support, along with compatibility with the PS5's DualSense controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
  • High-Resolution Graphics: Up to 4K resolution and 120fps.
  • Visual Enhancements: Improved lighting and enhanced visuals.
  • Customizable Graphics: Three adjustable graphical presets (High, Medium, Low) with NPC count adjustment.
  • Nvidia DLSS Support: Boost performance with Nvidia's DLSS technology.

Notably, while Nvidia DLSS is included, AMD's FSR technology is absent. This might put players with AMD graphics cards at a slight performance disadvantage.

The robust feature set bodes well for the PC release, though Square Enix's previous PS5 sales figures were less than stellar. The PC version's commercial success remains to be seen. However, the anticipation among PC gamers is undeniable, making this a release worth watching.
