The Free Login Campaign follows closely on the heels of Patch 7.15, which brought new side quests to the Dawntrail expansion, including the beloved Hildibrand series and a new Custom Delivery client. Ahead of the campaign, Final Fantasy 14's producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, delivered a New Year's message to the community. In it, Yoshida confirmed that Patches 7.2 and 7.3 are slated for release in 2025, alongside smaller content updates. He also dropped a mysterious hint about the future direction of Dawntrail's main storyline, sparking lively discussions among players about what might be in store for their favorite characters.

Even though Final Fantasy 14 is currently in a lull between major updates, this is the perfect time for players who've been away from Eorzea to return. According to Square Enix, the Free Login Campaign began on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 3:00 AM Eastern and will end on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 9:59 AM Eastern, offering up to 96 hours of free playtime. The timer starts the moment players log in via the game's launcher on their PC or console. To participate, players must have previously purchased and registered Final Fantasy 14 with their Square Enix account, and the account must have been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start. Players whose accounts have been suspended or canceled due to violations of the game's terms of service are not eligible.

Final Fantasy 14 Launches Free Login Campaign (January to February 2025)

Square Enix encourages players to verify their account details and eligibility through the Mog Station. During the Free Login Campaign, players can also participate in the annual Heavensturn event until January 16, 2025, which rewards a minion to all participants. Additionally, Patch 7.16, set to release on January 21, 2025, will bring the finale of the Dawntrail Role Quest side series.
