Festive Fireworks Light Up Pokémon Go for New Year 2025
Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, the Fidough Fetch event, and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Following these events, the Eggs-pedition Access paid event arrives January 1st, running through the entire month. For $4.99, players unlock numerous benefits to enhance their Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing for storage of up to 40 Gifts, opening of up to 50 daily, and collection of 150 from Photo Discs.
What's in Store for the New Year's 2025 Event?
The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun.
Expect wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with increased Shiny encounter rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also boasting boosted Shiny odds. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
