Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide to Gems and Pyroxene

Boosting your character's strength in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is crucial, and Gems offer a significant advantage. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.

Crafting and Leveling Gems

Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. Navigate to your room and select "Create Gems" (the second option). You can use Pyroxene to craft gems at a 1:1 ratio. Five unique gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene use offering a chance at any of them.

Crafted gems begin at level 1 and are equippable via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicates grants experience (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. While random crafting is efficient for overall gem improvement, targeted crafting is possible.

Targeted Gem Crafting: Crafting a single gem at a time has a chance to trigger "Eyes of the Sacred Bird," limiting the possible gem outcomes for subsequent Pyroxene uses to three specific gems. This effect can be reset by exiting and re-entering the crafting menu. This method, while potentially tedious, increases your chances of obtaining desired gems. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Acquiring Pyroxene

Pyroxene appears as orange crystals scattered throughout the overworld. Interacting with a crystal yields one Pyroxene, after which the crystal disappears. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Occasionally, letters found in your Inn or tent room also contain Pyroxene.
