Meridia's Black Hole Devours Planet, Super Mourning Declared in Helldivers 2
A cataclysmic event has rocked the galaxy in Helldivers 2 — the abyss of Meridia has consumed Angel’s Venture, obliterating it from existence. In the wake of this devastation, Arrowhead Game Studios has declared an era of interstellar mourning.

The fall of Angel’s Venture was inevitable once the evacuation order was issued. As the final large-scale operation concluded, a massive, pulsating violet singularity surged forward, erasing the planet from the cosmic map.
Angel’s Venture was swallowed by the unyielding force of the Meridian Singularity. The Illuminates, who long concealed their identity behind a veil of enlightenment, have now revealed their true intent: absolute destruction.
The Galactic Map now bears only the ruins of Angel’s Venture — deep fissures marking the site where a world once thrived. Even more concerning is that Ivis, New Haven, and ultimately Super Earth remain within the reach of the Meridian Singularity. The future of the galaxy now lies in the hands of Super Earth’s courageous defenders, who must eliminate the Illuminate threat, uphold the memory of their fallen comrades, and protect their home planet at all costs.
In response to the tragedy, the President of Super Earth has proclaimed a 24-hour period of planetary mourning.
Yet, the war continues. The Meridian Singularity advances rapidly toward Super Earth, placing countless planets at risk. The next major operation is anticipated to focus on halting the abyss while simultaneously repelling intensified Illuminate offensives. The only hope is that this renewed effort will succeed where previous attempts have failed.
