How To Get Assists in Marvel Rivals & Best Characters To Use
In the typically self-reliant world of hero shooters, *Marvel Rivals* throws a curveball: challenges requiring assists. Securing these, however, proves trickier than expected. This guide explains how to rack up assists and highlights the best characters for the job.
How to Get Assists in Marvel Rivals
The Marvel Rivals stats screen displays kills, deaths, and assists. Assists are less frequent because the game tracks them uniquely. Simply dealing damage, even without landing the final blow, doesn't count as an assist. To earn assists, you must support teammates by healing, shielding, or incapacitating enemies to set up an ally for the kill.
This makes healers and tanks ideally suited for racking up assists. If you're a damage-focused player, you'll need a strategic shift to complete these challenges. Fortunately, several characters excel at assisting.
Best Characters for Assists in Marvel Rivals

Jeff the Land Shark
While not the most effective Strategist, Jeff's bubbles and stream offer significant healing flexibility, boosting teammate survivability and assist opportunities.
Mantis
Mantis is the premier support character for assists. Her healing and Spore Slumber (which puts enemies to sleep) create perfect setups for allies. The only challenge is securing her early in a match.
Peni Parker
For those who prefer tanking, Peni Parker is an excellent choice. Her Cyber-Web Snare immobilizes enemies, making them easy targets for damage dealers.
Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange, another strong tank, provides a powerful shield, keeping allies alive while they deal the finishing blows.
Storm
Storm, the top Duelist for assist-seeking players, uses Weather Control to enhance allies' damage and speed, allowing teammates to easily secure kills while boosting your assist count.
