How to Use Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia
The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform actions that reveal evidence, such as EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet prints. This is achieved by inserting pins into the doll, one at a time. This method is particularly useful when dealing with a ghost that is reluctant to show itself or provide evidence.
There are 10 pins available to insert into the doll, each triggering a potential ghost action. However, be aware of the risks involved: each pin inserted reduces the user's sanity by 5%. Inserting all pins can drain up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the likelihood of triggering a ghost hunt.
The most critical risk is associated with the pin located in the doll's heart. Inserting pins is random, and if you hit the heart pin, it will reduce your sanity by an additional 10% and immediately trigger a Cursed Hunt. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost will spawn near your location and hunt for an extended period, 20 seconds longer than a normal hunt.
Despite these risks, the potential rewards in terms of evidence gathering can be significant, making the Voodoo Doll a worthwhile tool for well-prepared ghost hunters.
What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?
Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost's behavior, albeit at a higher risk to your character. Some Cursed Objects are safer to use than others, depending on their specific effects, and the decision to use them lies with you and your team. There’s no penalty for choosing not to use them, and only one Cursed Possession will appear per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.
The game features seven different Cursed Objects:
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
- Summoning Circle
