"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"
The release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced yet another delay, now scheduled for October 2025. This latest postponement, announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, shifts the launch from the previously anticipated first half of 2025. Despite the setback, fans can take some comfort in knowing that the game itself is complete, with the focus now on polishing it through bug fixes, stability enhancements, and performance optimizations.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
While this delay adds to a series of disappointments for fans, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enriched the game with additional content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. They also teased that Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline upon release. However, the frequency of updates will decrease, as shared on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
The development journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by Hardsuit Labs, initially targeting a Q1 2020 release. Subsequent delays pushed the launch to late 2020 and then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. A significant shift occurred in 2023 when The Chinese Room took over from Hardsuit, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, the game is set to launch in October 2025.
The ongoing delays raise questions about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally captivate its audience this fall. The Chinese Room remains optimistic about the project. Meanwhile, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 succeed, a different developer will take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
