Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp Debut in Pokémon GO's Final Strike: GO Battle Week

As the Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO draws to a close, trainers are gearing up for an exhilarating finale with the Final Strike: GO Battle Week, set to kick off on May 21st, 2025, and run through until May 27th. This week is your chance to bring your Kubfu to full circle by evolving it into the legendary Urshifu in two distinct forms. Depending on your battling style, you can unlock either the Single Strike or Rapid Strike style of Urshifu.

For those aiming for the Single Strike Urshifu, ensure Kubfu is your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. If you're eyeing the Rapid Strike Urshifu during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week, follow the same steps but target 30 Water-types instead.

Alongside the evolution journey, a Special Research will continue the ongoing Seasonal storyline. Available until June 3rd, 2025, this research offers Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounters with themed Pokémon such as Charcadet featuring a Special Background, enhancing your Pokémon GO experience.

May 25th Is a Special Day

Mark your calendars for May 25th, dubbed the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Gigantamax Machamp will make its debut in six-star Max Battles. This event comes packed with bonuses to amplify your gameplay.

During this window, you'll only need to travel one-fourth the normal distance to earn Max Particles. The cap for Max Particle storage will increase to 1,600, and all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles. You’ll earn 8× Max Particles from these battles, and you’ll have the opportunity to make two extra Special Trades.

Don’t overlook the chance to gather Max Mushrooms during the event. These items temporarily double the damage output of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. You can stack multiple Max Mushrooms to extend the duration of the effect, although the power boost remains constant.
