"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"
Akatsuki Games has announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. It's hard to believe, especially since the game launched on Android, iOS, and PC (Steam) just a few months ago in February. What led to its untimely demise? Let's dive in and find out.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is set to shut down officially on November 27th, 2025. Alongside the shutdown announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just started teasing what was to come next.
As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means any adjustments or new features mentioned in earlier in-game notices are no longer happening.
Additionally, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will not be added.
Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract expires.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are no longer available through the app or web store. However, players can continue to use any existing Enigma Entities until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.
Why Did It Fail So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the outset.
One major issue was the slow release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Furthermore, there was little incentive for players to spend money, as a solid team could be built with just one pull, and duplicate characters (dupes) were not necessary. This was beneficial for players but not for the developers' revenue.
The decision to adopt a gacha model seemed like a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. However, the game remains playable until November 27th, so if you haven't already, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
