Star Wars Jedi Power Battles Gets Playable Jar Jar Binks and Nine More Characters

Aspyr has unveiled a surprising playable character for their upcoming re-release of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles for modern consoles: Jar Jar Binks. A new trailer showcases the Gungan wielding a large staff in action. This isn't the only addition; Aspyr has also revealed nine other new playable characters, with more to come.

The 2000 release of Jedi Power Battles featured beloved characters and locations from The Phantom Menace. Aspyr's updated version aims to recapture that nostalgia while adding fresh content. Alongside features like customizable lightsaber colors and cheat code support, players will enjoy a significantly expanded roster. Jar Jar Binks is the latest addition to this impressive lineup.

The new trailer shows Jar Jar engaging enemies with his staff, featuring his characteristically chaotic dialogue. While some fans might have hoped for a more villainous "Darth Jar Jar" interpretation, this version remains true to the character's comedic nature. Jar Jar Binks will be playable upon the game's launch on January 23rd; pre-orders are currently available.
