Rust's Massive Update Introduces Enhanced Cooking and Farming Mechanics

Rust's highly anticipated Crafting Update has arrived, dramatically expanding the game's crafting and survival mechanics. A culinary workbench allows players to grill chicken legs and even pair them with Siberian vodka! Recipes are required for successful cooking, and these meals offer valuable stat boosts and gameplay modifiers.

Domesticating chickens has also been added. Players can now raise chickens and chicks in coops, but proper care is crucial. Each chick requires attention to hunger, thirst, love, and sunlight; neglect will lead to their demise. Chicken meat spoils over time, necessitating refrigeration for preservation. Food items now display clear expiration timers.

Sweetening the survival experience, wild beehives now appear in trees. Honeycombs can be harvested and transferred to player-built hives crafted from wooden boxes. However, harvesting honey is dangerous; players need protective suits, water, or flamethrowers to avoid angry bees. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade (a honey jar that unleashes aggressive bee swarms), adds a unique tactical element.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing separate tech trees for plumbing and electricity. This allows for the construction of complex automated systems and even entire factories. Finally, premium servers have been launched, accessible only to players with a Rust inventory valued at $15 or more. This aims to create a more positive environment for dedicated players by reducing cheating and disruptive behavior.
