Roland-Garros eSeries 2025 Features a New eSports Team Format in Tennis Clash
Get ready for the return of the Roland-Garros eSeries in 2025! Following last year's thrilling competition, this year's tournament promises even more excitement with a brand-new team-based format, legendary tennis captains, and a €5,000 prize pool up for grabs. Returning sponsors Renault and Mastercard add to the prestige, offering players the chance to customize their characters with official Roland-Garros 2025 outfits and the exclusive Renault 5 Roland-Garros string.
When Does It Start?
The Roland-Garros eSeries kicks off in March with open qualifiers. These qualifiers, held in three stages (March 6-11, March 20-25, and April 3-8), will determine the finalists. The top female players from the first two qualifiers automatically advance, joining the overall winners. The grand finale takes place on May 24th at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum Auditorium, featuring a live audience and Twitch stream.
What’s New This Year?
This year's major change is the team-based format. Finalists will compete in teams, each led by a prominent French tennis figure. Gilles Simon, former ATP world No. 6 and Davis Cup champion, is confirmed as one captain. His rival captain remains a mystery, but organizers have hinted it's a Grand Slam winner! Simon, a commentator since 2023 and a 2024 Top 8 participant, will bring his expertise to his team.
Are You Excited for the Roland-Garros eSeries 2025?
The competition will be fierce! The winning team from the initial phase advances to the winner's bracket of a double-elimination tournament, while the losing team starts in the loser's bracket. Defending champion Alessandro ΔLEX Bianco returns to defend his title, joined by the two Grand Tour finalists. With 548,000 participants from 215 territories last year, expect even greater participation in 2025.
