Exciting news awaits fans of the time-twisting RPG, Reverse: 1999, as a new livestream scheduled for April 18th promises to unveil upcoming content. This event will not only showcase the much-anticipated version 2.5 update, 'Showdown in Chinatown,' but also provide additional details on the game's 1.5th anniversary celebrations.

The livestream, hosted in-character by Captain Regulus and the new character Officer Liang Yue in chibi form, is set to offer fans an engaging experience. Viewers can look forward to exciting giveaways, including codes, and a chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 through a competition.

While version 2.5 has already been extensively showcased to Chinese players, the international audience will get their first detailed look at 'Showdown in Chinatown.' This update pays homage to Hong Kong martial arts movies, featuring a dramatic crime thriller narrative centered around capturing an arcanist vigilante.

Reverse: 1999 Livestream Announcement

Character-wise, Officer Liang Yue, with her array of martial arts moves, will be infiltrating the movie set of another new character, Noire. Noire, a wheelchair-bound perfectionist director, uses her special moves to puppeteer her ideal actors against enemies. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, is set to make an appearance.

Although the exact content for international versions will be clarified during the livestream, fans can expect plenty of nods to the iconic works of the Shaw Brothers and John Woo in version 2.5.
