Potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A Release Date Leaks Online

Pokemon Legends: Z-A: August 15, 2025 Release Date Leak

Rumors of a Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date surfaced online, pointing to an August 15, 2025 launch. This potential release date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025, aligns with The Pokemon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokemon Day celebrations, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Following the exploration-focused gameplay of its predecessor, which prioritized open-world exploration and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokemon League, details about Z-A have been scarce since its announcement.

The Amazon UK listing briefly displaying the August 15th date, quickly removed and replaced with a December 31st placeholder, fueled speculation. This leak, first reported by content creator Light88, adds weight to the possibility of a summer 2025 release.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

The official release date may be revealed sooner than expected. Considering the original announcement during Pokemon Day 2024, many believe the 2025 Pokemon Day event (February 27th) is a prime candidate for the announcement. This date is further supported by recent findings from a Pokemon GO dataminer suggesting a February 27th Pokemon Presents broadcast.

Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially also showcased during the February 2025 Pokemon Presents.

Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility Confirmed

Initially announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokemon games have featured paid DLC, Pokemon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak." Whether Z-A will follow suit remains to be seen.
