Pinocchio RPG 'Lies of P' Teases DLC, Greenlights Sequel

Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently penned a heartfelt message to fans, offering a sneak peek at upcoming DLC and a highly anticipated sequel for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game.

A year after Lies of P's captivating release, developer NEOWIZ celebrated the anniversary with a touching letter from director Choi, expressing gratitude for the game's warm reception. The letter also revealed details about the upcoming DLC, promising to build upon the original game's strengths while addressing previously reported issues. Choi highlighted the dedication of the development team, "Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio," emphasizing their commitment to excellence.

"We aim to refine what worked well and improve areas needing further development," Choi explained, "a seemingly simple goal, yet surprisingly challenging."

The most exciting revelation? Choi shared both concept art and a musical snippet from the DLC's soundtrack. The artwork depicts P in a snowy, desolate landscape, gazing towards a mysterious lighthouse. The new musical piece, while labeled as “new,” is actually a 2022 composition by “onoken” and owned by NEOWIZ. A music video, also reminiscent of Lies of P's aesthetic, accompanies the track.

DLC Release Date and Sequel Confirmation

While a precise release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime during the second half of 2024. This coincides with the release of four other NEOWIZ titles:

Choi previously shared an eight-minute video last November, showcasing early concept art, revealing a towering industrial facility and a perilous shipwreck as potential settings for the DLC.

Choi assures fans that their anticipation will be rewarded, urging patience while the team works diligently to deliver an exceptional experience. Importantly, the DLC is only the beginning; a full sequel is officially in development.
