Outlaws 2 Hoists Sails on Fabled's Sea
Fabled Game Studio's highly anticipated sequel, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, is set to launch in 2025 across Android, iOS, Steam, and Epic Games Store. This roguelike deck-builder builds upon the success of its 2019 predecessor, promising enhanced features and a thrilling nautical adventure.
An open beta test is currently underway on Steam (October 25th-31st), with mobile releases to follow. Before you embark on this new seafaring journey, let's explore the exciting changes awaiting you.
What's New in Pirates Outlaws 2?
Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a new hero with a backstory set years after the original game. He begins with pre-built decks and unique abilities, but the enhancements don't stop there.
New companions join the fray, each contributing unique cards to your arsenal. A novel card fusion mechanic allows you to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version. A dynamic evolution tree lets you upgrade your deck strategically, transforming previously discarded cards into valuable assets. Relic acquisition has been revamped; they are now found in markets, after boss battles, or during special events, rather than after every encounter.
Battles feature a new countdown system impacting enemy actions. The "End Turn" button is replaced with a "Redraw" mechanic. A fresh armor and shield system adds another layer of strategic depth.
Ready to Set Sail?
Despite the innovative additions, Pirates Outlaws 2 retains the core gameplay loop that made the original a hit. Deck-building remains central to the roguelike adventure, as you explore the seas and conquer challenges in Arena and Campaign modes. Familiar elements like ammo management, combined melee/ranged/skill card attacks, curses, and diverse enemy factions return. For further details, visit the official website.
