Miyamoto Musashi's unparalleled swordsmanship takes center stage, but the trailer also highlights his mischievous and humorous personality.Capcom describes Onimusha: Way of the Sword as a dark fantasy action game featuring one of Japan's most renowned historical figures. Interestingly, Musashi's in-game likeness is reportedly modeled after Toshiro Mifune, the celebrated Japanese actor known for his portrayal of Musashi in various samurai films.
The game's setting is Kyoto, now under the sinister grip of Malic, an evil force summoning hellish creatures into Japan. This marks the first new Onimusha title in two decades. To further excite fans, Capcom also announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, launching May 23, 2025, serving as a prelude to the upcoming game.
