Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 575W Power Draw

Leaked specifications suggest Nvidia's upcoming RTX 5090 graphics card will pack a powerful punch. Sources indicate it will feature a massive 32GB of GDDR7 video memory—double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. However, this performance comes at a cost: a substantial 575W power draw.

The RTX 5090, along with the rest of the RTX 50 series (codenamed Blackwell), will be officially unveiled at Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote on January 6th. This next-generation lineup arrives over two years after the RTX 40 series launch and will include features such as DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support. The RTX 50 series will compete directly with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

Ahead of the official announcement, details emerged from Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner. Their iChill X3 RTX 5090, a triple-fan card, confirms the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the hefty 575W power requirement. This represents a significant jump from the RTX 4090's 450W TDP.

The RTX 5090: High Memory, High Price?

The RTX 5090's impressive specifications likely translate to a high price tag. While Nvidia remains tight-lipped on pricing, estimates suggest an MSRP starting at $1,999 or higher. The cards will utilize a 16-pin power connector, though adapters will be provided.

The RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti will also be revealed alongside the RTX 5090 at Nvidia's CES presentation. The new generation promises significant advancements, but the ultimate consumer reception remains to be seen.
