"Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Halves Charging Time"
Gamers, get ready for a game-changer! The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller will now charge in almost half the time it takes for the original model. According to Nintendo Life, Nintendo has revealed the tech specs for the new $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller, which boasts a charging time of just three and a half hours when using the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter or the USB-C charging cable. That's a significant leap from the original's six-hour charge time.
But that's not all – the faster charging doesn't compromise the Pro Controller's impressive battery life. The Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains a fantastic 40-hour runtime between charges. Plus, it introduces the new C button, adds two additional GL/GR buttons on the underside, and comes in a slightly lighter and smaller package than its predecessor.

If you're still attached to your original controller, you'll be pleased to know that Nintendo has confirmed the original controller will be compatible with the new console system.
Nintendo officially introduced the Switch 2 during a 60-minute Nintendo Direct earlier this month. Although pre-orders were initially slated to open in early April in the U.S., due to tariff-related uncertainties, Nintendo had to delay the pre-order date to April 24. During this delay, Nintendo assured that the $449.99 price for the Switch 2 console and its games would remain unchanged, though they raised prices on most Switch 2 accessories, including the Pro Controller which saw a price jump from $80 to $85.
