Metal Slug: Awakening Opens Pre-Registration On Android!

Get ready for a blast from the past! HaoPlay Limited's upcoming title, Metal Slug: Awakening, is bringing back the arcade action we all loved. Launching globally on July 18th, 2024, pre-registration is now open.

Here's the lowdown:

Metal Slug: Awakening is a modern reboot of the iconic 90s series. Its journey to release has been interesting, initially teased in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, it faced several delays and name changes. After a Southeast Asia launch in late 2023, it's finally ready for global pre-registration.

For those unfamiliar (though I doubt that's many!), Metal Slug is a classic Japanese run-and-gun series debuting in 1996. Created by Nazca Corporation, it's since blossomed into a multimedia franchise.

While Metal Slug has seen mobile releases before (Metal Slug Defense in 2014, Metal Slug Attack in 2016, and Metal Slug Commander in 2020), Awakening promises a significant upgrade.

The game stays true to its roots with classic shooter gameplay, enhanced by updated visuals and new mechanics. Expect to revisit familiar characters and embark on new missions. Features include a World Adventure mode, 3-player co-op, and challenging Roguelike elements.
