This system allows players to gain increased control and power over their armies, adding a new layer of strategic depth to the game. Players can unlock the Mercenary Camp at Level 26, enabling them to contract and recruit powerful mercenary units. These mercenaries come with exclusive technologies that players can unlock and upgrade, further enhancing their military prowess.
Each mercenary group in *Age of Empires Mobile* boasts unique special skills, enhancing the gameplay experience significantly:
Byzantine Cataphract:
- Increase the damage of all hero skills of the army by [2%]
- After the troops inflict skill damage, all damage received by our troops is reduced by [3.5%] for [3] seconds
Swiss Pikeman:
- Increase the probability of triggering the hero’s pursuit/active skills of all troops by [1%]
- Reduce all damage received by troops by [2%]
Korean Archer:
- Increase the probability of triggering the hero’s pursuit/active skills of all troops by [1%]
- Reduce all damage received by troops by [2%]
Players have the opportunity to secure their first mercenaries for free by participating in a new event that is currently live alongside the system's launch. This event is a fantastic way for players to experience the new Mercenaries System without any initial cost.
The addition of the Mercenaries System to *Age of Empires Mobile* also introduces epic "What if" scenarios, allowing players to experiment with pairing their favorite legendary heroes with various mercenary classes. Imagine the strategic possibilities: What if Joan of Arc commanded Roman Centurions? Or what if Hannibal led Japanese Samurai? These combinations open up new avenues for strategic and tactical gameplay, enabling players to conquer their foes and build the largest empire imaginable.
