Netflix Shares Kevin Conroy's Last Role in Devil May Cry Anime
The demon hunt is officially on. Netflix is adapting the "Devil May Cry" video game series into an anime, and we've just gotten a thrilling first look via a brand-new trailer. Perhaps the most exciting news, however, is that the late, legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously feature in this new adaptation.
Best known and beloved as the definitive voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne across decades of animated films and series, Conroy appears in the anime as a new character named VP Baines, heard in voiceover at the start of the preview.
Following his acclaimed posthumous performance in "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3" in July 2024, it's wonderful that fans will have another opportunity to enjoy his talent. He is joined by a cast including Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante himself.
Netflix's official synopsis sets the stage: "Sinister forces are conspiring to open a portal between the human and demon realms. Caught in the middle is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds rests on his shoulders."

Showrunner Adi Shankar, known for executive producing films like 2012's "Dredd," "Killing Them Softly," and 2014's "The Voices," will helm the series. He is also attached to executive produce an adaptation of "Assassin's Creed," announced in 2017 but yet to be released—fans remain hopeful for its eventual realization.
Leading the animation is Studio Mir, the acclaimed South Korean studio behind "The Legend of Korra" and "X-Men '97." "Devil May Cry" will debut on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
