Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, launching on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative game blends vibrant anime-inspired visuals with incredibly realistic skating choreography, developed in collaboration with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, you become a coach, nurturing the talents of your skaters. Your responsibilities are multifaceted: crafting performance routines, selecting music, designing costumes, and choosing technical elements. The ultimate aim? Lead your athletes to victory at the prestigious fictional competition, "On the Edge." The game's choreography features input from renowned Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who also worked on the anime series Medalist.
Remarkably, the developers started with limited figure skating knowledge but committed to mastering the sport's complexities. They meticulously researched everything from the distinctions between jumps to the intricacies of the scoring system, ensuring an authentic and immersive experience.
