Hideaki Nishino Elevated to Sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hiroki Totoki Promoted to Sony CEO
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous leadership structure implemented after Jim Ryan's retirement. This restructuring sees Nishino assume full responsibility for SIE operations and the platform business group.
This announcement coincides with the promotion of Sony's CFO, Hiroki Totoki, to President and CEO of the entire company, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, steps up to become the new CFO.
Last year, SIE's leadership was divided between Nishino (hardware and technology) and Hermen Hulst (PlayStation Studios). Hulst will retain his position as head of PlayStation Studios. Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative content development to expand the PlayStation community and its IP. He also acknowledged Hulst's continued contributions.
