Guide: Completing Canker Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

“Canker” is one of the early side quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, and it’s well worth your time if you're looking to earn some extra Groschen or acquire a useful weapon like the Light Mace. To unlock this quest, you must first complete “The Jaunt.” Once that’s done, you can begin your hunt for Canker.

Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To start the “Canker” side quest, speak with Gules at Semine. The easiest opportunity to do this is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes—Gules will be drinking beforehand, and you can talk to him then. However, you don’t have to wait until the wedding. If you visit Semine earlier and speak to Gules while he’s on patrol, you can still trigger the quest.

Simply ask him about his former bandit gang and offer assistance in eliminating them. Canker is one of those ex-bandits, and taking this quest starts your journey toward clearing out Gules’ past once and for all.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you accept the quest, Canker’s location will appear on your map. His camp is located north of Nebakov Mill. Getting there can be tricky, as the route is often patrolled by random bandits who may try to ambush you. You can choose to sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply outrun them—though expect minor encounters along the way.

The actual bandit hideout is nestled deep in the mountains. Be sure to look for a narrow passage leading into the camp—it's easy to overlook, similar to how you accessed the Hermit’s house in the “Wedding Crashers” quest. Prepare yourself before entering, as you’ll face several bandits alongside Canker.

While some bandits might flee depending on the order you attack them in, most will need to be defeated. Fortunately, Canker won't run away, so you’re guaranteed the chance to eliminate him and complete the main objective of the mission.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and the rest of the bandits, make sure to loot Canker’s body. The quest requires you to collect the Light Mace from him, though you’re free to take any other items you find valuable.

Once you’ve gathered your rewards, return to Gules to turn in the quest. Completing “Canker” sets the stage for future missions involving Gules’ old bandit comrades. After a full day passes in-game, you can speak to Gules again to pick up the next quest, “Handsome Charlie.”
