Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated return in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, over a year after his initial appearance. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns about the game's banner scheduling, made challenging by the large roster of over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots.

The current system struggles to provide fair rerun opportunities for all limited 5-star characters. While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this, its effectiveness remains debated, as evidenced by Shenhe's extended wait time. Until the introduction of triple banners, longer waits between character reruns seem inevitable.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this issue. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for a rerun. The leak from Flying Flame indicates this will happen in Version 5.4, although their past predictions have been mixed. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buff favoring Wriothesley's playstyle lends some credence to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also rumored to feature Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining Event Banner slot might be filled by either Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's anticipated release date is February 12, 2025.
