Forspoken Woes: PS Plus Unveils Mixed Reception

Forspoken, despite being a free PS Plus title nearly a year post-launch, continues to spark heated debate among players.

Even those who accessed it for free are as divided on its merit as those who paid full price. The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium announcement revealed surprisingly positive anticipation for Forspoken (alongside Sonic Frontiers).

However, a significant portion of those who sampled Forspoken abandoned it within hours, citing poor writing and dialogue. While others appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration, the prevailing sentiment is that the narrative and dialogue significantly detract from the overall experience.

It seems unlikely that PS Plus will significantly revive Forspoken's fortunes, given its inherent inconsistencies. In this action RPG, New Yorker Frey is transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. There, she must master newfound magical abilities to navigate the expansive world, battle creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all in a desperate attempt to return home.
