Floatopia Is Coming To Android, And It Has Strong Animal Crossing Energy
NetEase Games unveiled their charming life sim, Floatopia, at Gamescom, with a planned multi-platform release, including Android, sometime in 2025. This whimsical game features sky-bound islands and unique characters. The trailer depicts a picturesque world where players farm, fish, and decorate their floating island homes.
A Cute Apocalypse
The game's premise involves a world-ending event, but fear not! This apocalypse is more akin to "My Time at Portia" than "Fallout." The world consists of fragmented lands suspended in the sky, inhabited by humans with varying supernatural abilities. Some abilities are more impressive than others, leading to some amusing character dynamics.
Players become Island Managers, engaging in activities reminiscent of "Animal Crossing" or "Stardew Valley." Cultivate crops, fish amongst the clouds, and personalize your island home. The ability to explore new locations and meet diverse characters adds to the adventure.
Social interaction is a key element, with opportunities for shared adventures, island parties, and showcasing your island paradise to friends. However, multiplayer is entirely optional for those preferring a solitary experience.
The game boasts a colorful cast of characters, each with their own unique personalities and quirky superpowers.
While a specific release date for 2025 hasn't been confirmed, pre-registration is available on the official website.
