Here’s the official description:

In Civilization 7 - VR, the world of Civilization comes to life like never before. The map is displayed on a Command Table, allowing you to view it from high above or zoom in to see the intricate details of buildings and units, akin to a living tabletop game. Players will guide their civilization and interact face-to-face with iconic world leaders around the Command Table, each responding dynamically as you form alliances or declare war through the Ages.

Civilization 7 - VR offers both immersive virtual reality and mixed reality experiences, with the ability to switch between them seamlessly. In virtual reality, you'll find yourself in an ornate museum overlooking a personalized vista based on your chosen leader. In mixed reality, the Command Table integrates with your physical space. The Archives, a special room in your virtual museum, showcases detailed dioramas of your gameplay achievements in both VR and mixed reality. Beyond single-player, you can also engage in online multiplayer battles with up to three other Meta Quest 3 and 3S players, competing for world domination.

The base version of *Civilization 7* is currently available on PC and consoles for those who opted for advanced access. However, early Steam user reviews have voiced concerns about the user interface, limited map variety, and the absence of expected features. Firaxis has responded to this feedback, committing to UI enhancements, the introduction of team-based multiplayer for cooperative play, and an expanded range of map types, among other promised updates.

In an interview with IGN prior to the release of third-quarter financial results, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged the mixed reception of *Civilization 7*. Despite some negative reviews, he remains optimistic, believing that the "legacy Civ audience" will warm to the game as they spend more time with it. Zelnick described the game's initial performance as "very encouraging."
