The Evil Genius series may get a new game

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley hasn't ruled out Evil Genius 3, but isn't making any promises just yet. The franchise is close to his heart, and he's carefully considering how to elevate it for a future installment.

Kingsley suggests the world domination theme could translate beyond the base-building simulator genre, exploring other strategic game formats. While specifics remain under discussion, the team is actively brainstorming new ideas to revitalize the franchise.

Released in 2021, Evil Genius 2 received a "mostly positive" Metacritic score from critics. However, player reception was more mixed. Despite graphical improvements and attempts to address past issues, many felt the sequel fell short of the original. Common criticisms included the global map, minion and structure degradation, and other gameplay aspects.
